Fungal nail care with a patented peptide at its core

Our patented peptide came out of scientific research. And we’ve been looking at fungal nails every day since 2018.

Published research

Scientific publications have been written about the peptide in tiptoe naildrops.

Made from amino acids

The peptide is made from amino acids naturally found in the body and is biodegradable.

Patented formula

The peptide is the result of years of study and research by microbiologists. It’s patented, and tiptoe holds the exclusive licence to use it.

Fragrance-free, colour-free

Suitable from age 4, also during pregnancy and with medication. For external use only.

The tiptoe routine

A complete peptide routine to use at home

The trick isn’t rubbing harder. It’s sticking with it. Three steps that work together: treat, care and protect.

  1. A bottle of tiptoe naildrops with its dropper: peptide drops for fungal nail care

    tiptoe naildrops

    Twice a day

The active step. You apply the drops with the patented peptide at the base of the nail, where new nail grows.

  2. A bottle of tiptoe care foam, a care foam for the skin around the nail

    tiptoe care foam

    Twice a day

The skin around the nail and between your toes. Leave it untreated and it can reinfect the nail. Back to square one.

  3. A spray bottle of tiptoe protect your feet, a spray for feet and shoes

    tiptoe protect your feet

    Every day

On your feet and inside your shoes, so you don’t reinfect yourself while the new nail grows out.

Think months, not weeks. A nail grows about 1 mm every 6 weeks, so sticking with it is what makes the difference. Not sure which steps you need?

What to expect

A nail doesn’t change overnight

A fungal nail develops over time, and recovery takes time too. That’s why we show you upfront what to expect.

  1. Start

The affected nail won’t go back to normal

It grows out. What you see now stays visible until it’s been replaced.

  2. First new growth

    Clear nail at the base

That’s where you’ll see it first. A nail grows about 1 mm every 6 weeks.

  3. Grown out

    Grown out clear

How long that takes depends on how deep the infection went and on any underlying causes.

  • Painless, fragrance-free and colour-free
  • From age 4, also during pregnancy and with medication
  • Stick with it every day, and care for the skin around the nail too

About the research

How the peptide fits into your routine

You apply the drops at the base of the nail, where new nail grows, and care for the skin and your feet alongside. How long it takes depends on how deep the infection goes.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most about fungal nails and the tiptoe routine.

Yes, you can start at home with the tiptoe routine. We recommend using the drops, the foam and the spray together, so the nail, the skin and your feet all get attention. If your nail is badly affected, talk to your GP or a podiatrist first. Not sure how far along your nail is? Take our free nail test to see which approach suits you.

A fungal nail infection (onychomycosis) develops when fungi grow on or under the nail. Bacteria and fungi live on everyone’s skin. If they get the chance to get into a nail, an infection can develop. Not every thick or discoloured nail is fungal, though: psoriasis or an injury can look similar. If in doubt, have it checked by your GP.

Everyone has fungi on their skin and under the edges of their nails. If the fungus gets into the skin or nail and spreads, an infection develops. Warmth and moisture make that more likely. It usually starts on a nail that’s been damaged: through sport, a trip to the sauna or swimming pool, tight shoes or stubbing your toe. Thick, discoloured nails can also develop without a fungal infection, especially as you get older.

A fungal nail usually doesn’t cause serious problems, but many people find it annoying or feel embarrassed because of how it looks. The skin around it can also itch and look a little red. And sometimes the nail doesn’t smell fresh, which is caused by the fungus itself.

Fungal nails aren’t hereditary, but some people are more prone to them than others. Men get them a little more often than women, because their skin tends to be moister. People who play sport, smokers and people with lower resistance, diabetes, heart and vascular disease, eczema or psoriasis are also more at risk. And you become more prone to them as you get older.

Yes, a fungal nail infection is contagious. You pick up the fungi through tiny flakes of skin from other people (or animals) with a fungal infection. Whether that actually leads to an infection partly depends on your resistance. Once you have one, you can pass it on to others too. A thick or discoloured nail without a fungal infection isn’t contagious.
