Peter Boeters, formerly known in the Netherlands as ‘de Kalknagelkoning’ (roughly ‘the fungal nail king’), had a dream: to grow his local practice in Capelle aan den IJssel into salons across the Netherlands, so that everyone could get help with their fungal nails.
In my practice I see so many people who’ve given up hope that anything can be done about their fungal nails. They’re ashamed, and they don’t dare take their shoes off. Helping those people is hugely rewarding. Young children and teenagers struggle with fungal nails too. Sometimes they withdraw and stop joining in with group activities where they’d have to go barefoot. So you can understand why I can’t wait to get started and help them.
Almost everyone tries a home remedy at some point, or picks something up at the chemist. In our experience, that often isn’t enough, even when you use it regularly. Fungal nails are a stubborn problem.
My approach is a clear routine that you stick with: for the nail, the skin around it and your shoes, all at the same time. In the Netherlands we offer that in our salons, together with products from the tiptoe range. Those are the products you use at home, and they’re built on years of experience.
Working with fungal nails every day brings a lot of appreciation. And I’m proud of every client who sticks with it. You can see the relief when someone finally dares to take their shoes off again.
Start with the free nail test: in a few minutes you’ll see how far along your nail is. Or take a look at the tiptoe range first.
